The Idiot System

Hi,
I recently saw a movie 3 idiots. The movie was a mega hit .The story, the acting all hit but the message it had given to the public was due to idiot system we are unable to use our wisdom and just keep running behind the system. A big question before us here is that is it the fault of the system or it lies some where else and instead of hammering at the root we are just trying to get temporary solution of the problem by striking here and there as per our convinience .

Last week in Mumbai alone three students did suicide just because they were lacking behind in the studies due to their interest in some other activities where they wanted to show their talent .Neha Sawant a 11 year old girl was one of them who had made her identity through a TV realty program Boogie Woogie was interested to pursue the carrier in that field against the wishes of their parents so under pressure she had to suicide.

High profile people like KPS Gill and SPS Rathore are able to play as per their wishes and the system is looking  at them helplessly ,how the same system when public got awaked made the culprit get their dues by the court, Home ministry and other authorities? Has the system changed for the last 19 years in case of SPS Rathore or 22years since KPS Gill played mischievous with Rupal Bajaj who herself was an IAS officer.

The buck do not stop here. Hockey players are not getting their salary and have refused to practice ,where as the International competition are starting next month. The corporate which are queuing for support of the Cricket teams and open their treasure to buy the IPL teams are not showing any interest for the players of this national games who are passing through a measurable condition. Neither Hockey Federation nor Ministry has taken suitable action to bring the situation normal. The reason for the same is corporates are not looking beyond the profits and people sitting the Government are just intrested in blame game instead of woning the responsibilties to save India form National Shame.

JMM Chief Shibu Soren despite not having even the simple majority have succeeded in grabing   the Chair of Chief Minister third time with the help of BJP the second largest National Party of India who talks alot when it comes to talk ideal. Shibu Soren is facing many criminal charges and was underground for many months when he was convicted by court in a murder case. The party with difference is supporting it.


There may be many more example where the system may be found guilty but to me it seems the fault of the people who are responsible for implementing the system not the system it self. Possibly the same system when implemented properly can give the results which are appreciable and give satisfaction to the public at large.


The major reason for the powerful people to use system in their benefit is beacuse we are all just looking for the self interest and no beyond. One day I heard a joke " जब मैंने अपने एक दोस्त को बताया की तुम्हारे पड़ोस में आग लग गयी है तो उसने कहा की मेनू की (मुझे क्या मतलब) और जब मैंने उसे कहा की आग तुम्हारे घर में लगी है तो बोला की तेनु की (तुम्हे क्या मतलब). Now the problem is when we do not have courage ,we stopped caring for self respect ,the priority of earning money is so high that a High official of a Rank Left. General could sale the Government Land in Assam for few bucks what better you expect from the society.


The major question before the country is when do we start thinking beyond ourselves ,when we will learn to work for the country instead of my self and my family . So either let us take pledge to work for the Nation or let the thing happen as are happening there is no point in " चलनी में दूध दुहो और कर्मो को दोष दो "

The year 2009 that was to be remembered for ?

Some thing similar has happened when 2008 ended with a high hope of OBAMA sitting in cockpit to steer the USA to make the world  a better place to live now after what has finally happened in COPENHAGEN just before the end of 2009 the world is weeping on the years performance with the new hope for the New Year.

It is not that it happened so only on the world scenario but at micro level something similar happened in India also. The country successfully managed to hold one more General Election to constitute the 15th Loka Sabha before the results were announced Mr. Advani was having high hopes which could not remain even people like Lalu and Jaya Lalita were also weeping over the results and thus with some pleasure and displeasure the ball started rolling with larger responsibilities on the UPA lead by Mrs. Sonia Gandhi in Cockpit and Rahul as Co-pilot the role of Dr. Manmohan singh remained same .With the announcement of Telagana State in first week of December and withdrawing of the idea has created turmoil not only in Andhra Pradesh but in National Politics .The state which gave congress a fortune of making the Government in the mid of the year seems to be anxious to take it back meanwhile the person who managed the power for the congress also left for heavenly abode for the reasons yet to be known.

 In the state politics Maharastra public gave a high jolt to Shiv Sena and BJP to bring Congress back in power which may be good also to some extent but MNS becoming powerful may prove something very danger able for the unity of the India and image of Mumbai becoming the world class city and economic capital of India may be damaged. Election results in Jharkhand as also created such a political situation which may keep the state in bad conditions of development for the coming years.


Also  new hopes have arisen for Ruchika Girhotara's family whose unfortunate suicide has broken the hearts of many sensible and responsible people in country specially after it was made public that an IPS officer SPS Rathore has been real villain so Government of India has served the notice to withdraw the retirement facilities and the Police medal though it may not bring Ruchika back but shall be a lesson to all those who have gone mad because of the administrative power to rule or money and muscle power.


BJP got a new leader Nitin Gadkari to lead the second largest party in the country which was awaited for long time and his announcement to care for the people “who do prakram not prikrama” seems to be good indication if he really means what is said by him because it is very likely that soon he will also be surrounded by the people who are good at politics of manipulating things to their own advantage, forming their own groups as is happening for last many years because of which the party which was considered as party with difference emerged as party with difference where every other person was trying to expose his fellow member be it Raj Nath exposing of Jaswant Singh or Jaswant Singh exposing Advani on his role as deputy Prime minister and hiome minsyetr in case of Indian Air Lines Plane high jack case.


Narain Dutt Tiwari once a powerful politician of the country is alleged again (earlier Mr. Shekhar Claimed that N.D. Tiwari was his real father) with sex scandal though difficult to believe yet it may lay cold hand on his reputation and the reputation of Congress party to which he belongs too.


Attempt to attack the dignitaries which started in the beginning of the year when President Bush was attempted in Iraq in the opening week of the year and ended with attack on POPE on the Christmas eve in his own country among his disciples gathered to celebrate the holy birth day of Christ . In between almost all the politician were attempted be it Home Minister Chidambram or L.K. Advani even Dr. Manmohan Singh could not keep away from the attack.


Still four days to go for new year, I wish that it should pass peacefully and welcome the New Year with new hope of Joy and goodness for all the people on the earth, and the mother earth may be more cool help nourishing the brotherhood above the personal interest of country or individual.

Fighting for the Peace

HI,

Since time immortal all those who fought said they are Fighting for the Peace. Indian mythology is full of stories be it Sri Ram fighting Ravana or Sri Krishna with Kaurava they all said to have fought for the peace.

The same statement was given by President Obama while speaking on the occasion of accepting the Noble prize of Peace  in OSLO,Norway on 10th December 2009.President also quoted his two ideals  Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King  by saying that it is always not  possible to  follow the principles of non violence and therefore violence becomes a necessary evil to bring peace. The  video of speech delivered on this occassion is available at

Though, I am not qualified to comment on the statement but my observation has been that when Mrs. Gandhi instigated a fight with Pakistan in 1971 which gave birth to    Bangladesh or under her leadership  the first atomic test was performed   the argument remains the same .Even after 25 years , in 1998 When India performed the second atomic test ,for Peace America did put all kind of sanctions against India and not  agreeing with the  arguments made by then Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Bajpai for the reasons best known to them.

I am therefore compelled to understand that all fights are for peace only, beacuse after fight of any magnitude ( at least one of the fighter will be no more) there can only be peace .This surely means that if you  work for  non violence as practised  by Gandhi ji ,it shall bring some peace but ultimately there shall be violence as happened after partition of India .But if you fight for peace there shall be peace .

President Obama has understood this well and therefore despite being a hard follower of two non violence angels Mahatma Gandhi and Martin L King whose photo is always carried by him and has hanged it on wall too,he had courage to say that it is not possible to follow their principles always. So follow it as per convince of follow up.The day Noble for peace was announced by the committee ,the fight over the decision started the very same day, some said it was too early,while other expressed it as a premature decision but as it always happens after a fight there is peace therefore fight over the decision also brought peace to support President OBAMA to continue his "FIGHT FOR THE PEACE"

I am thankful to the Nobel prize committee for opening the eyes of the people who till now were practicing non violence for peace.I have also understood the reason for saying "  समरथ को नहीं दोस गुसाईं " by Poet Tulsi Das some 400 years ago possibly ,he knew that what ever shall be said by the powerful person or nation only  that shall become an ideal to follow.

Ekal International Conference: An opportunity to meet Integrated “Bharat”

"The soul of India lives in its villages," declared M. K. Gandhi at the beginning of 20th century. According to the 2001 Indian census, 74% of Indians live in 638,365 different villages, who are believed have the earning of Rs.20 or less per day. The basic infrastructure such as school ,health care centre ,connecting road etc are still a dream in most of the villages even after 62 years of freedom.

Ekal Movement started in 1988 at place in Jharkhand (earst while Bihar) took the pledge of empowering these villagers and now have reached more than 28000 villages by June 2009.The movement has successfully managed to run program for literacy, health care, village development and Swabhiman Jagran with the help of more than 6000 full time volunteers .The system implemented to mange these program are par excellence and have reaped unbelievable results.

Ekal international Conference being organized in New Delhi on 30^th -31^st October and 1^st November 2009 will provide an opportunity to residents of city and NRI’s being assembled to participate in conference the capacity building done by the Ekal Movement which is otherwise difficult to believe. Kalidas in BJP

Hi,

You may be surprised to read the heading, how come when every body one by one leaving BJP, Kalidas ,the most wise person of his time who wrote literature like Kumar Sambahv and Sakuntlam etc. is in party . After the Indian public choose to go with weaker Prime Minister for making him strong, it seems the BJP leaders are also following the path by weaking the party and playing role of Kalidas and Dhritrastra.Some are even trying to play Chandragupta too.

Before Kalidas participated in स्वयंवर ( पुराने भारत मे विवाह के लिए स्त्रियो द्वारा रचाई जाने वाली एक रस्म ) invited by Vidottma, Kalidas was not being considered a wise man instead was considered a fool but the interpreter of the conversation held on the occasion of स्वयंबर, due to their vested interest were able to prove a wise man. The history of India is witness to making of Kalidasa form fool to the most wise person of his time.

But that is not all, Kalidas was the only person known till now in India about whom it is said that "कालिदास इतने मूर्ख थे की वह जिस डाल पर बैठे थे उसी को काट रहे थे " और मजे की बात यह है की सारी दुनिया भी यही मानती है सिवाय मुझे छोड़ कर, मेरा मानना है की दुनिया का कोई भी आदमी चाहे जितना मूर्ख हो ऐसा नही कर सकता ,क्योकि मूर्ख से भी मूर्ख आदमी को भी पता है, की आप जिस डाली पर बैठे है उसे तबतक नही काट सकते जब तक दूसरी डाल जो उससे जिआदा मजबूत न हो जिस पर आप बैठे है को पकड़ने का इंतजाम न कर ले, पर यह सोच आम आदमी की हो सकती है, बुद्धिमान की नही बुद्धिमान आदमी को पता है की आप जिस डाल पर बैठे है उसको काटेंगे तो सम्भावना है की आप मर जाए ,और गीता में भगवान श्री कृष्ण का कहना है, की मरना तो केवल कपड़े बदलने की तरह शरीर बदलना है ,अतः मरने से डरना कैसा ,और डर भी गए तो वह रुकेगी थोडी बल्कि यह तो एक मौका होगा आत्मा से परमात्मा के मिलन का, इसलिए यदि आप जिस डाली पर बैठे है और उसी को काट रहे है तो आप महान है,विद्वान् है ,और कुछ हो न हो कम से कम मूर्ख तो बिल्कुल ही नही है

I there fore admire the episode played by Arun Jaitely and Rajnath Singh before the election started , Narendra Modi and L.K. Advani through the posters "Kaun Banega Pradhan Mantri"episode and not now the soap opera which started after the election results where Advani ji played by resigning and Raj Nath played role for requesting not to resign, Dr.Joshi on the issue of leader of opposition ,Jaswant on their issue and Yashvant on other issues etc. but that is not all.

Like in ancient Mahabharat ,BJP is also having Krishna on the chariot (रथ ) to lead ,but this time Krishna is not fighting for Panadav to get them their dues instead asking Pandava to fight to make king to Krishna ,one more point is worth noting is that ध्रितराष्ट्र this time are in both the parties Congress is having Sonia and Murli Devra,Sharad Pawar etc. BJP is also second to none having Vasundhra,Jaswant and Maneka etc. Therefore Krishna now not fighting against the Kaurav the son of ध्रितराष्ट्र instead Krsihana while fighting against having many in their side too.

The solution for infight of BJP has been suggested by some शाएर " दर्द का हद से गुजर जाना ही है ख़ुद दवा होना" So let us wait and see when things will be setled and again BJP will be known for good "चाल ,चरित्र और चेहरा " so as to command the same respect as they did in 1999।

King Makers in Queue

Election results for 15th Lok Sabha are out,who so ever could not join the PM in waiting Club became king maker.Be it Jay Lalita or Chandra Babu from Southern states of India or Mulyam or Lalu from Northern States.All had done their calculations of who wants what,Amar Singh announce that this time he will not be sold for less price as he did when supported Congress after support was withdrawn by Left parties and Government was almost on the verge of collapse.Teen Deviya Maya,Mamta and Jaya were very sure to play crucial role in making of the Government and prepared herself to ask for the full price for the same.All other negotiators too had sharpen their tools to get a bigger pie of the cake.But forgotten one simple learning भगवान गंजे को नाखून नही देता है ! and for god sake now are in queue, in hope of some breeze coming via 10,Janpath Road.

Does'not matter, Congress led UPA has got almost absolute majority and this time PM Manmohan Singh do not need to work like captive labour as he said in July 2008 when left pressurized Manmohan to go back on Neuclear deal issue. Dear Manmohan need only to remain and work as दूत of Sonia Gandhi as confessed by him in an election rally of Congress in Rajsthan when he said that I have come here as Representative of Sonia ji who has sent me to take her message to you. We all congratulate and wish all the best to Manmohan Singh for his second inning as Prime Minster of India likely to begun in few days from now. Now let Congress prove its worth to India and Indian in next five years going ahead of just talk as stated by Rahul in election campaign that BJP 's shining India is confined to elites only and hand of congress is with dalit and adivasi also.

Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) as ever has started doing the introspection but to do it you need to keep your eyes open लेकिन पार्टी के धृत राष्ट्रों को कुछ दिखाई देगा इसमे बहुत संदेह है पिछले पाँच सालो मे पार्टी ने कम से कम पाँच चुनाव हारे है परन्तु पार्टी यह सोंच कर खुश है की हमने तीन जीते भी तो है और जब बिना कुछ किए तीन जीत लिए है तो करने की क्या जरूरत है ! Party leaders are happily playing game of letting down each other whether it is fight of Sudhansu Mittal and Arun Jaitley issue in Delhi or SC Mathur and Vasundhra issue in Rajasthan or issue of calling Mr. Jinnah a secular man by Advani ji which let down Advani ji by his party men.Even Advani ji countered it by saying that though he was Home minister and Dy.PM too when Indian air line passengers were rescued by Government of India ,he was not taken into confidence just to let down their colleagues .When Ma. Sudershan ji (पूर्व सर संघ चालक जी)advised Advani ji to retire from active politics on the ground that all people who have attend the age of 75 should be away his advice was not taken seriously .मुझे यहाँ भारत के महान खिलाडी सुनील गावस्कर की याद आती है जिन्होंने क्रिकेट को उस समय अलविदा कहा जब वह चोटी पर थे और बाकी लोगों को भी यह सलाह दी ,की सन्यास लेने का सही समय तब होता है जब आप चोटी पर हो अन्यथा आपको लोग रिटाएर कर देंगे और आपको मायूसी के साथ संन्यास लेना पड़ेगा!

The election results have proved one thing far sure that the public in this country is getting matured day by day despite lot of hard ship and illiteracy and the day is not far off when public will through all such politicians and parties who are unable to deliver the promises and aspirations to the public.My hats off to the public who despite lot of odds has done good to the country by supporting one party giving enough power to act and keep India's head high among the Democratic countries of the world .I am proud to be citizen of the biggest democarcy of the world.

वाह ! बेटा बाप से बढ़ के

Hi,

There is no limit of telling the truth.Suddenly Rahul have understood the importance of confessing publicly ,specially in election days and how it can help pulling voters in favour.His father also made a confession publicly that every rupee sent from centre only 15 paisa reaches to the last man.The statement was appreciated as it did sound well and created hope that now it is known to the highest office ,therefore some efforts shall be made to perform better, hence is being quoted by all leaders in their speeches.The son is far ahead he says only 10 paisa reaches to the poor,no effort is made to tell the public why the situation got worst despite the fact that for last 25 year almost 17 years Congress has been in power. Is the confession enough, did Rajeev made any effort after knowing that only 15 paisa reaches to last man or now Rahul will make any effort as how to make 50 paisa reach to the last man instead of 10 .Now it is also known where this 85 paisa is deposited which was allocated for welfare of country men but have reached in hand of corrupt leaders and bureaucrats of India, but the ruiling Congress party of which Rahul is General Secretary is not even ready to disclose the name of three persons who are culprit of keeping black money out side India and exposed by German bank .No action of the Government is giving the message that they are willing to expose the persons behind and bring the black money back in India.Instead PM Shri Manmohan Singh and his Government seems to be in restless position and want to give clean chit to BOFORS Broker hurriedly. The same BOFORS case sent Rajiv'S Congress out of power and history may repeat again after almost 20 years.

Also Rahul has started talking big and raised the question of democracy in the political parties.A very good issue to be discussed but for last 125 years of Congress record which has not been clean creates doubt that they will suceed to do so.Even before the independence any leader who emerged popular but was not in good book of Mahatma Gandhi could not either sustain or was thrown away Subahs Chandra Bose and Saradar Patel are good example,after the independence the record has been still bad.After your Grand Mother took over the party every thing was your Grand Maa ,she was surrounded by people like Dhillon who once said India is Indra and Indra is India and party was of course in her pocket.So is the case now also.I have not heard any election held in congress party for last several years neither your mother nor you are elected functionary of Congress ,but well I am happy that you have courage to confess it publicly ,if it is only a stunt to impress the public it is good ,if it is something beyond let the country know what your plans are?

Your appreciation for Nitish Kumar ,Bihar CM has also cached the headlines ,if it honest assessment of his work and letting people know that you have courage to appreciate even political opponents it is certainly one good gesture and we all are with you and have lot of appreciation but if it is part of politics and your appreciation has come just to lure the Nitish and invite him to join part of post election alliance ,you will be also assessed as a politician who for getting the power can go to any extent.Only time will tell what your intentions are ?

You have learned well how to impress public be it dining with some poor family in your constituency or meeting some Premavati in Madhay Pradesh and discussing it in Parliament or be it Congress Sammellan at Ram Lila ground when you confess that a common youth can not rise to the top position in Congress,I believe all these action are planned by your political advisor who have forgotten to tell you that these statements become meaning full only if you practice it first and advice later as Mahtama Gandhi did .When a mother requested Gandhi ji to give the teaching to her son for not eating the Indian sweets ,he simply asked her to come next week .Next week when the lady came Gandhi ji taught all good lesson to her son,to best of surprise when lady asked why Gandhi ji did not agree to do so last week he simply confessed that till then I was also eating it ,therefore had no moral to teach others not to practice when I my self is practicing it.

If god is willing and your party comes to power you, will be sworn in Minister as you have already expressed your desire then you will have more powers given by constitution of India,I am willing, you do something which is beyond statement and real ideal for youth brigade of India to follow in the interest of this great country .

Then I shall be proud of you and this Nation who has given birth to Many Gandhi's some which have truly served the country.

Election 2009 -A Competition to Hit Below The Belt

Three round of elections are over while two more are remaining.After five round of election by the public is over ,the sixth will be played by the newly elected Members of Parliament to be in the Government and unprecedented horse trading is likely to take place in the interest of Nation where money will be invested by Multinationals,Indian Corporates and other big business man to secure the future.
The election 2009 will be remembered for a long time for many reasons ,one of them will be to recall how many time a leader has hit below the belt to other leader and as per status to how big is list of the leader who are hit .The competition for the bumper prize is between Lalu of RJD and Amar Singh of SP.The fight for the second prize is tough and is between Sonia and Advani,Modi and Manmohan even Rahul and Maya may also be nominated for this category.For the third prize all leader of this grade may get nomination which may include Varun,Priaynka,Kalyan etc. the list is long.
The second reason for remembering the election would be to see how the tooth less election commission has kept giving notices for not following the आदर्श आचार संहिता of election and leaders with out getting affected or feeling ashamed of it .If the counting is done Lalu here will also win mega prize in the race .Again for the second prize , the contestant are many to name a few are Sanjay who have offered pappy and Jahppy to Maya or Varun who in addition to getting notice got the prison also now doing sentimental black mailing to the voters by asking to repay the price of tears of his mother Menka.
The third most important feature of this election has been जूता बाजी ,leader from both the National party had privilege of enjoying it ,the point worth noting here is that every one got it according to status like PC got Addidas and Advani got chatti ,Manmohan also could get branded but CM Yedurappa was not so lucky.This has been the one distinguished feature of both National party .
I heard a poem some 40 years ago still relevant today "हैलटसाही में हैएत दींन अब गाँधी कैप लागायेत है ,हम तब्बो लूट के खाया है और अब्बो लूट के खाएइत है " ( I enjoyed all the privileges in british raj and now enjoying in khadi raj) I am sure these lines were written for some particular kind of person who were enjoying the privileges from Britishers who were ruling the country at that time and there after from Government of India ,but these persons were neither respected in the society nor were role model for the society but with time सब कुछ बदल गया है , yesterday on May day a great singer of Hindi song was celebrating the birthday and a song was being play on the radio अपने लिए जिए तो क्या जिए ,तू जी ए दिल जमाने के लिए and I was thinking about the poet to be a fortunate man and daring too, who could give such noble thought else leadership of today would have give given good lesson by kidnapping his kith and kin.
Iron is going to be hot after fifteen days(16TH May) all are ready to strike it at the right time and place ,since all parliamentarians take oath to do all such act and deeds which are in the interest of Nation, they will do so even if they are required to sale their soul or on the voice of soul and world will be witnessing one more great auction show of Indian democracy.
It does not matter how we save the democracy or how much we save but I am sure some thing will remain saved for the 16Th Parliament too ,only time will tell who will be PM and who will in waiting till then but what ever will be left I shall be "Proud to be part of the Nation who despite so many odds will stand to see the next elections"

I am not sure if the film Slum Dog Millionaire has made all those "slum dogs"Millionaire but I am sure it has made Millionaire to Danny Boyle for showing the slums of India , Guljar for writing a memorable song "Jai Ho" and Rehman for composing the music of the song, more interestingly the song has made millionaire to the music company for selling the rights to the Indian National Congress, who bought it for a Rs.2Crore,to play in election rallies and swap the other political parties with "Jai HO",in time to come, there may be many more who will be millionaire by the film popularity and business it is likely to do .But I have serious doubt if it will make millionaire to any of the slum dogs who got high hopes of rags to riches .

The life is like that only.Some 20 years ago Mira Nair made a film "Salam Bombay" the film was made on a good plot, which impressed many critics and public at large ,did good business and was nominated to Oscar too, Mira Nair made Millions out of the show. A Karnataka boy, Shafiq Syed who played role of Krishna in film, won the President's Medal also for best child artist but could do nothing better than driving an auto rickshaw on the roads of Bangalore .

Making fun of people's compulsion is the old habit of those who are blessed ,I remember when some one complaint about the non availability of good wheat, the leader flying in Helicopter suggested to eat "Double Roti" .There are many school of thought on showcasing the measurable conditions prevailing in poor localities and slums ,where even potable water is difficult to get, what to talk of other basic facilities.Some will say what is the harm if film makers are making stories on slums and getting nominations in Oscar ,there may be some who will advocate against it too.

In such circumstances I recall the biggest showman of the Bollywood a legendary Film maker who made super flop film "Mera Naam Joker" and lost his all money in the hope to make some, and made fun of himself by playing role of Joker ,how good it is to make fun of yourselves instead of others.I admire Sant Kabir who once said "कबीरा आप ठगाइए और ना ठगिये कोए ,आप ठगे सुख होते है और ठगे दुःख होएय " but any ways an Indian movie got the Oscar first time in history of 81 years so "I am also proud of my Nation who have made its place in Oscar list no matter at what cost".

Relevance of Ekal Vidyalaya in to day’s prospective

Despite the fact that the constitution of India as directive principle article 45 having made it the duty of the State to provide free and compulsory education to all children up to age fourteen in ten years (1960), the number of out of school children particularly from the disadvantaged groups and those engaged in labor, and those receiving poor quality education has remained very large, hence it has become a big challenge to meet the goal set by UNESCO to achieve universal literacy by 2015.

Further to supplement this A bill was introduced in Parliament of India named “Right to Education bill 2005” which very clearly defines duties of State Government and Central Government for providing Child’s Right to Free and Compulsory Education of Equitable Quality. Still Unesco's 'Education for All Global Monitoring Report-2007” which provides projections for 127 countries in terms of the goal to achieve universal literacy by 2015, puts India among the 15 countries with low ‘Education for All' (EFA) Development Index. The report paints a poor picture of the manner in which the goal of total literacy is being taken up by various countries including India.

The official statistics available for the “out of school children” states more than 80 Lac students in the age group of 6-14 years are still out of the school, the unofficial figures are even larger. This is an alarming situation and all round efforts are required to be made not only by the State and Central Government but it should be shouldered by all those who are concern with the presents scenario be it social organizations or corporate taking it as their social responsibility supplementing the efforts being done by the governments at various level.

The challenges are many of which most prominent are :

· Education is a non priority for the BPL families

· Infrastructure available in the remote places is inadequate to facilitate the basic education.

It is well understood that the most important priority for the living creature is food ,hence for all those families living below BPL allowing their children to go to school leaving their work which they are required to do for livelihood is out of question. At the same time it is not possible to wait till they are out of the BPL to provide education to these children hence the solution left is that work to meet the basic need and education both should go together, the limitation to this concept is that the operating timing for normal schools are same which is working time too ,hence providing education in time which is a non working time for villagers could be good option, therefore system which can offer flexible time to learn and work can go together can work among the BPL population.

The children in the age group of 6-10 years can not go to attend the school which is more than 2-3 K.M. away from their village hence it is required to create the basic facilities in the neighborhood of their settlement so that these are not required to move in unsafe condition more over they should be able to make use of their time which is spared after their routine work of helping their parents. Therefore most suitable infrastructure required to be created is to offer such facilities at the door step of the village children. Again opening large number of school ,managing their administration ,providing basic amenitis at each such school and arranging finances for such activities is a very big challenge before the society.

These challenges are being met by the Ekal Vidylays Who could realize the need and offer the solution some 20 years ago as One Teacher School which are now managing more than 27000 such schools all over country in more than 22 states providing education to 8 lakh students has become world’s largest NGO working for the Tribal and deprived population offering most cost effective solution for the problem which so far has not been addressed effectively for some reason or other.

The One Teacher Schools are being managed by Friends of Tribal society having head office in Kolkatta and 21 chapters all over country and Bharat Lok Shiksha Parishad head office at New Delhi and have 4 chapters in different states. Both of these organizations are managing their funds being collected form individuals , Corporate and other sources in India. The financial support to these organization is also made available through Ekal Vidylaya foundation of India which responsible to raise funds form Non Resident Indians settled in USA,UK, Hong Kong and Middle East etc. Thus supplementing the efforts being made by various agencies managed by Government of India and State Governments for spreading the literacy movement and contributing towards UNESCO’s education for all goal set to be achieved by 2015.

More than 5000 volunteers are devoting full time to make sure the target for literacy are achieved in the time frame fixed for the same, more over these volunteers are paid only honorarium for the work they do and the condition they are working in are very tough ,still these motivated people are doing wonders by their efforts and I am proud of these volunteers who are putting continues efforts to make the Bharat a great country
